As the highest honor for technological innovation in the nonferrous metals industry, this award features rigorous evaluation and high gold content, serving as an authoritative benchmark for measuring an enterprise’s technological strength and innovation capability. In its first participation in the application for such a top-tier award, our company, as the second completing unit, won the Second Class Award with the project “Key Technologies and Applications for Green and Efficient Smelting of Low-Grade Complex Copper-Cobalt Associated Ores”, adding another heavyweight honor to the company’s innovative development!

The award-winning project accurately addresses the pain points in the development of low-grade complex copper-cobalt resources in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), innovatively establishing a full-process key technology and special equipment system featuring “raw ore acid absorption – intensified reduction leaching – multi-stage countercurrent leaching – high-efficiency solvent extraction – energy-saving electrowinning – multi-metal recovery”. It has created an environmentally friendly closed-loop process, with significant values in technological breakthroughs:
It has overcome the industry’s key challenges of low smelting efficiency and insufficient resource utilization in low-grade complex ores, achieving a dual leap in green and environmentally friendly production and economic benefit improvement;
It has significantly enhanced comprehensive resource utilization efficiency, solidifying the defense lines for environmental protection and safe production;
It has formed a replicable and promotable green smelting technology paradigm.
Behind this heavyweight honor lies the long-term persistence and tackling of key problems by the team. It is inseparable from the R&D team’s profound accumulation in the field of green and efficient hydrometallurgy, and more importantly, embodies the fighting spirit of all members in collaborative operations and overcoming difficulties. Since the project’s launch, the company has taken technological innovation as the core driving force and green development as an important orientation, repeatedly refining and continuously optimizing key technological links, and winning authoritative industry recognition with tangible R&D achievements.
