Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang Sheng of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia Visits Rongxing Company for Survey and Inspection

At the beginning of the new year, on January 9, 2026, Wang Sheng, Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim of the Chinese Embassy in Zambia, led a delegation to make a special trip to Rongxing for research and work inspection on work safety, accompanied by Yuan Liming, Chairman of Rongxing.

Mr. Wang conducted on-site inspections of various safety and flood control facilities of Rongxing, including tailings ponds, emergency reservoirs and river embankments. He also made detailed inquiries about project construction, operation, maintenance, daily monitoring, emergency response and other aspects.

On behalf of the company, Chairman Yuan Liming extended a warm welcome to Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang and the delegation for their guidance and inspection. He provided a detailed report and explanation on the company’s institutional measures in 2025, including the construction of new tailings ponds, safety production, tailings pond monitoring and maintenance, and emergency response mechanisms.

Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang Sheng and the delegation hold a safety symposium with the management of Rongxing Company.

After listening to the report, Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang noted that Rongxing Company had undertaken significant efforts in various safety rectification tasks in 2025, with thorough and effective measures that were both scientific and reasonable. He acknowledged the notable improvements and progress the company had made in safety production management, expressing full affirmation on behalf of the embassy. Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang emphasized that Chinese enterprises investing and operating in Africa not only represent themselves but also reflect the positive image of the country. He encouraged the company to continuously enhance its political awareness, familiarize itself with local laws and regulations, adhere to safety and compliance principles, commit to long-term development, strive to fulfill social responsibilities, and maintain good relations with surrounding communities. In conclusion, Acting Chargé d’Affaires Wang stated that the embassy would continue to firmly protect the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises and expressed hope that everyone would remain confident and steadfast in contributing to the stable and enduring development of China-Zambia relations.
